The idea for Popadum began when my family and I took a three month long trip to India. My husband was filming a movie in Rajasthan and we joined him on location. It was a magical time. My son had just turned one and we were able to expose him to some of the ancient traditions of India.
As we spent time experiencing the country, I realized there was a simplicity and beauty to the native clothing that really appealed to me as a mom. The clothes were made from natural cottons and were often hand dyed and embroidered. And, the styles opened up a range of options for boys whose clothing choices are often so conservative.
I hope that you too will find that these tops go beyond the usual logo t-shirts and button down shirts. Of course, your girls can easily wear them too. I hope that you will be inspired to bring some global style to your children. |
